[JDorama] Rich Man Poor Woman Episode 1

In the last two months I doted myself with detective or mystery Japanese series, and it is fun since I have a couple of Ataru episodes to go. But when Shun Oguri arise presenting his new spring season line of series, I really excited. Forgot how long since I saw him in last show.
The drama is fresh, though I presume this will be some melodramatic kind of series at first, by judging their choice to the title. But my guess ain't really a matter cause you wouldn't judge a book by it's cover, would you? It's a drama-comedy by the way.

Shun plays Toru Hyuga, a president of successful company called Next Innovation, he found this company who work mostly for IT and creative products, and care a stock market value 3 billion dollars. At his early age 29 years old his personal capital already reach 2.5 billion. If you put this average, he earn 600rb dollar per hour. Is he too good to be true? But this almost-perfect man has an illness of lacking memories of someone's faces and names. Even his own employees. He just want to remember who he want to. And I like this peculiar characters. Where we could look forward to uplifting conflict. I am sure this will be interesting. And there is Asahina Kosuke, his right man who also a founder partner and close friend. One of the man he remembers.

There's a girl played by Satomi Ishihara , a job hunter who desperately looking for a position but failed almost 30 offering interview. Even nearly take an interview with no passion left and cried. It's quite the opposite of our leading man. She has the ability to remember every detail she given in. I love how she manage to work part time as a waiter and amazingly take every order form the customer perfectly, correctly. Minus her clumsy, she's a cheerful person.

And like any other drama series, there has to be a second leading lady. Am I asking too much? But whatever it is, show you better be not giving us an easy love triangle (or maybe quadrangle?). Played by Saki Aibu as Asahina Yoko (yes, she's his pals sister), a chef who apparently opening a resto near Hyuga's building. I'm not into her as an actress, might cause I don't really know her and she always got the rule a woman that annoys me. And someone should do something to her hair here.

This first episode show that Hyuga search a name on the internet, Chihiro Sawaki, and  no matter how hard he try to click the search button, it leads to naught. Apparently it's the name of her long lost mother (one thing). He got some kind of hideout where he could be himself, unaccompanied to refreshing his mind, somewhere in a temple and he make friends with a monk there whom know about his mother quest. It look like this is his real side as a human. Although he always carefree, forgetting and too relaxed kind of man when it come to work. Sell short to every matter he take no interest.

Meanwhile, our job hunter lady in her frustrated state, feeling envious for people with work suit (she dress what people called job hunter suit) and have a nice life. She grumbling to her dingy pair of shoes she always wear to hunt.

Our president had a new idea for their company new project, he explain that he want build a system in a web to manage a census. Talking bout' how pension record has been erased and how the management falling apart. He want a personal file in each citizen. Therefore, the citizen don't need to come to administrative hall to register. Wow such a noble idea, but we know his real intention, search his long lost mother. To his accountant's point of view, this project has a huge risk if they doesn't success the company will collapse, but Kosuke smiling agree.

Hyuga conduct a seminary to realize his new project and our leading lady participate but got ridiculed by Hyuga seeing she never got even an offer. Feeling humiliated, she show her skill of remembering every detail of the company, how it start and gain its success, even the name list of the shareholders and employees. Still, Hyuga take no budge to her, he want somebody with at least 2 offers. Furthermore, he call her 'Miss University of Tokyo', looks like wherever you're study and got your degree, it almost impossible to impress him. Until she respond in teary eyes, that she has a name, Chihiro Sawaki.

The funny thing is, he take a twist and decide to use her skill to help him with this project. He remember her name easily, which come to surprise his employee and best friend Kosaku. Hyuga hire her for only 48 hours, cause no matter how good her ability is, he don't want him as his employee, only help him to win the heart of vice director lady who don;t get along with Hyuga, cause this lady will open his path to success the project.

I love this show. Hyuga's character here promptly make me fall for it. I don't know the term tsundere is proper but beside his cool and look down on people he has a gentle heart and his pure goal to find mother. And not remembering someone easily is something else. It can cause humorous factor, and in other part, it can cause damage not only to him. And I like his style too. Casual and relax yet the impact of his charisma is way more important.

I like Sawaki's character as well (let say it's a fitted combo, or pairing?) her adorable outlook, honest (not too), cutely dumb and clumsy behavior easily swelling up Hyuga's temperament. Typical lovable character, right? Though it's beyond reason why she lie about her identity. Cause if it's my guess is right, this girl's really smart and you'll don't know behind that dumb-personality mask.

Kosuke has this nature to fix everything that Hyuga put in mess. He's a gentle or you could say most reasonable person among other characters. though Hyuga will got his back no matter what happens.

I love the scene when he turn Sawaki into a beautiful woman to accompany him. But put away her previous but new shoes, is something you must not do. And the scene where Hyuga yell at Sawaki is one of my fave, he keep blaming her even though everything's running normal as he expected. And Kosuke take her home to make her heart at ease, that everything's allright, and telling to be advised about Hyuga. So you mean, to take everything he throw at her? Yeah right.
