[KDrama] Bridal Mask a.k.a Gaksital (2012)

It looks like I've been catching up with a good show lately. Haha. Okay, that was subjective. But if I tell you how my laptop filled with tons of pilot episodes, you will believe me that choosing a good show is hard. Especially when you dig up some with a good cast, pairing, romance, bromance and a little tsunami conflict. I abandoned lots.

Bridal Mask a.k.a Gaksital (I prefer to call it Gaksital, catchy) is set in Korea 30's when Joseon dynasty colonized by the Japanese. Fisrt time I watch this kind of set, and feel snappy about it. Where you can find a mix mode, vintage plus hanbok plus kimono running everywhere, I completely fall in love with the view.

But it's time where Japanese colonization inflict a total loss for Joseon people. A hero happen to be their new hope for a better Joseon, wearing a traditional play mask mask, the rosy-cheeked one resrved for the female role, a.k.a the bride and a white baji (traditional costume for men in Korea). While our hero Lee Kang To played by Joo Woon, a Joseon who become a police officer that serve the colony. Being hated by Joseon people for his betrayal. But apparently he has a reason. The plot will let you know how he switch over defends an enemy instead of his country. That will be the best part of this drama. Put you up in hate-love-hate-love mood and heartbreaking moments.

The heroine played by Jin Se Yun as a circus player named Mok Dan, whom apparently a childhood long lost lover of Lee Kang To.

With only four episodes to go in Korea, I think the drama has tossed me under terribly confusing but love feeling. It gave me shed a tear, nail-biting, yell-like-crazy moments.

I'm amazed with Joo Won's acting ability, how easy he throw a resentment, a heartbreaking cry, a pervert bastard all at once. And also Park Ki Woong's potential when he become a twist personality.

It's a good show you should savor
