Here are some pics from upcoming rom-com adapted drama To The Beautiful You (Hana Kimi remake). I was.. quite surprise. Not. You know, it looks like Korea has this obsession with adapting a foreign drama these days. By that I mean to different feel, or level. To them. But it worth to watch since it involves bunch of idols (yayy for you Kpop lovers). I won't startled if that help with rating.
There you go, the posters. I always love Sulli though I don't really that into f(x). She has cute face. She's pairing with Minho -did I mention that Minho is one of idols with manly look?- is fit. But feel a bit worry for the second leading man. Or boy. Doesn't he look like a moppet to you? Oh my that hair. But we'll see.
When it comes to Korean drama, don't bother expect something, especially romance. Cause they will give you. Provides you with melodrama semi-nonsense conflict. Plenty. Some of these pictures gave you nostalgic feeling with 2007 Japanese original version of Hana Kimi. However, the rest is completely fresh.
Minho plays Tae Joon, a genius high jumper who suffer for some incident, therefore feeling sorrow. And Sulli, plays Jae Hee whom admire him and want to do something in order to make Tae Joon jump again. Like that, she decides to go his school, pretend to be a boy and have a mission curing Tae Joon's trauma. Yeah right, why not?
And she/he meet friends there. Boy and girls of course. And there other guy/boy, Eun Gyul played by Lee Hyun Woo (is it just me or that horrible hair will be just fine if it's GD's head? -nevermind-) who plays soccer, cheerful and had this question mark feeling when run into Jae Hee. Uh oh. Did he know that he is she? Or is it anything else?
Wait wait wait. Is that that dorm's head I see? Nanba Minami as in Japver? That's pretty much the upgraded version. Had to remind myself that this is a high school drama.
There is Hanna. played by Kim Ji Won? Nope, there is no Hanna in Hana Kimi original. Only Hanayashiki Hibari. Well if you meant her, maybe this Hanna is formal version of Hibari. Okay, she's not meant to be that Hibari (someone please punch me). She befriends with Tae Joon since childhood and he always be her friendly oppa, and apparently in same sports agency.
I'm not expecting much but we have our heroine mournful. Somebody died?
Here five main man characters in a photo. Do I have to feel disappointed or pleased not to see their poster with all of the students in all boy school? Like in their senior version?
To The Beautiful You premieres next week, August 15th on SBS.
